One night in early March, we were sitting out by the fire and decided we should go on our first big trip together! Blaine had been talking about wanting to go visit his parents (Bonnie & Dennis) down in Texas, and one of Melissa’s best friends lived less than a half hour away! So we looked at plane tickets, and 13 days later, we were off on our first plane ride together!
We were there for 4 days.The first 2 days we spent with Blaine’s parents. We had some great tacos at a little “hole-in-the-wall” taco shop in Corpus Christi before heading over to Port Aransis. We went down to the beach area near their RV park they were staying at. It was absolutely beautiful. We had a nice fire and watched the sunset.
Melissa’s friend, Ashley, came and picked her up from Port Aransis, while Blaine spent a little 1:1 time with his parents. We were reunited later that evening. Ashley and her husband Mark made us an amazing feast of steak, shrimp and a bunch of other goodness.
The next day we spent at the beach altogether. Mark showed Blaine how to fish in the ocean, while Melissa and Ashley soaked up the sunshine!
It was a quick trip, but it was so nice for Melissa to finally meet Bonnie & Dennis, and for Blaine to meet Ashley & Mark.
